US Premiere of Japanese Movie - People Protecting Food Safety
Moms Across America Premieres
People Protecting Food Safety
A Japanese Film with a Huge Impact on the American Food Supply
The Japanese government owns the largest grain distribution center in the world. It is based in Convent, Louisiana, USA.
The distribution center Zen Noh Agriculture purchases hundreds of millions of pounds, over four billion US dollars worth of GMO and non-GMO grains annually, from American farmers and ships them to China, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and South East Asia.
In other words, the Japanese government owns an outsized stake in the American midwest agriculture system. This is why American Presidents and corporations put enormous pressure on the Japanese government to accept our GMO grains sprayed with glyphosate. The Japanese government, in response to the US and Monsanto’s demands, drastically deregulated glyphosate. Japan’s allowable levels of glyphosate residues are as much as 95% higher than China’s. As a result, Monsanto’s and US grain products have had not only devastating health effects on the people living in Japan but on America as well.
No other market, not even the American mothers, is as intricately connected to the American agriculture system as the Japanese.
The fact is that if the US government was responsible for safe food production, they would not produce toxic GMO crops and export them to any country. And if the Japanese government was responsible for the safety of their people, they would not allow them into their country. The political pressure from the USA is enormous, though. Will the people triumph in protecting their food supply?

Overview:
- A new study released January 28, 2021, shows that both Roundup and glyphosate affected the microbiome at all doses tested, causing shifts in bacterial populations and their function.
- Imbalances in gut bacteria or dysbiosis is linked to an ever-growing array of diseases, including cancer, type 2 diabetes, obesity, behavioral issues like ADHD, Autism, and depression.
- Previous studies have shown that populations with diabetes and obesity, or weakened immune systems, are at higher risk of death from COVID-19.
- Higher rates of death from COVD-19 are the largest factor in whether a state or country will shut down its economy.
As reported by GMWatch - A new study conducted by an international team of scientists based in London, France, Italy, and the Netherlands, led by Dr. Michael Antoniou of King’s College London, was published today in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives.

No matter who is in office, we at Moms Across America are committed to taking actions to protect our food supply and health of our families. Our food supply is in jeopardy of becoming even more toxic than it has been over the past decade. Biden's pick for head of the USDA, Tom Vilsack is a not surprising, but is a terrible idea. Vilsack is a staunch supporter of GMOs and is responsible for supporting the contamination of the entire food supply with GMOs and toxins while he held this position during the Obama administration. It's time for a change.
We need your help today.
We ask you to take a quick and easy action- go to our campaign and with one click, send a letter to your Representatives and Senators. You may also choose to Tweet them, call and/or send them a video of you saying why it is important to say NO to Tom Vilsack. Your information is only utilized to connect you to your Senator or Representative and is never shared. We know how important our privacy is to all of us.
We had a unique opportunity to speak to a South Dakota cattle farmer, Pat Trask who took on Monsanto and won his case at the Supreme Court to stop GMO alfalfa from contaminating the feed supply. However, shortly after the win Tom Vilsack approved GMO alfalfa for the marketplace anyway, saying "We have no choice." Yes he did, he could have honored the courts decision. Vilsack thinks he is above the highest courts in the land!

EPIC EPA FAIL
The EPA's finding that glyphosate exposure does not cause any health risks is a blatant act of reckless endangerment to public health. Americans should be outraged, not just because our EPA is not protecting us, but because our government is allowing the collapse of democracy by pandering to corporate greed.
Summary
- The EPA assessed risks to humans from exposure to glyphosate from all registered uses and all routes of exposure and did not identify any risks of concern, including cancer.
- The EPA did not review any cumulative health impacts of glyphosate.
- The EPA did reduce the list of crop types with allowable levels of glyphosate residues from 160 to 15, however the crops removed likely did not utilize glyphosate, and the list is not complete.
- The EPA still has not responded to the EWG et al petition about discontinuing the use of glyphosate on oats and wheat as a desiccant or made a determination on residue levels.
- The EPA will do further assessments on the impact of glyphosate on bees and endangered species due to the Center for Biological Diversity mitigation.
- The EPA is limiting the amount of glyphosate used per acre, by category of use, in order to prevent further weed resistance.
- The EPA is requiring additional labeling for aquatic use which warns of fish kill from the lack of oxygen from dead water vegetation (note: not from glyphosate).
- A final decision will be made after a decision about the desiccation of wheat and oats, endangered species review, and an assessment of endocrine disruption. Decisions could be in 2020 for some and August 2021 for others.
Bayer's $2 Billion Dollar Headache Affects Us All
You must have heard about the $2 billion dollar win for our cause via the Pilliod v Monsanto trial by now. It's everywhere. It's glorious. We celebrate this tremendous win! And we wish to remind the public of what is really going on here. Some things are simply not being mentioned in the media.
Moms Across America asked nicely. We went to the Monsanto (now owned by Bayer) shareholders' meeting and asked 1,000 shareholders and the entire board of directors to "change direction, away from this toxic treadmill of chemical cocktails." I asked for them to consider the job security of their employees, pointing out that a business plan which includes poison is not a viable long-term plan, and that many could lose their jobs. Other moms like Anne Temple also asked them to "mitigate the inevitable litigation," to protect their own shareholder value, and to stop selling Roundup and glyphosate herbicides now.
They ignored us.
They belittled us.
And they funded movies and shills to discredit us.
Even though we were "just moms," the attacks were vicious.

OpEd by Zen Honeycutt
I intended to write this article and title it ”How Monsanto Has Ruined Our Lives.” But then I realized it is not just Monsanto who has done these things. They led the way by developing GMOs that can tolerate herbicides and have pesticides built in, but they should not get all the credit. US companies Dow/Dupont, and EU companies Syngenta/ChemChina, BASF, and Bayer/Monsanto have had numerous lawsuits against them as well for egregious crimes against humanity. For now however, because I am not European, I am going to focus on what’s happening in the Good Ol’ US of A.

Monsanto Loses 1st Phase of Second Trial
First published on the Associated Press by Sudhin Thanawala
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Roundup weed killer was a substantial factor in a California man’s cancer, a jury determined Tuesday in the first phase of a trial that attorneys said could help determine the fate of hundreds of similar lawsuits.
The unanimous verdict by the six-person jury in federal court in San Francisco came in a lawsuit filed against Roundup’s manufacturer, agribusiness giant Monsanto. Edwin Hardeman, 70, was the second plaintiff to go to trial out of thousands around the country who claim the weed killer causes cancer.
Monsanto says studies have established that Roundup’s active ingredient, glyphosate, is safe.
A San Francisco jury in August awarded another man $289 million after determining Roundup caused his non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. A judge later slashed the award to $78 million, and Monsanto has appealed.
Hardeman’s trial is before a different judge and may be more significant. U.S. Judge Vince Chhabria is overseeing hundreds of Roundup lawsuits and has deemed Hardeman’s case and two others “bellwether trials.”

Pilliod v. Monsanto is the first case in the California Roundup Judicial Council Coordination Proceedings (JCCP) and the third Roundup cancer case to proceed to trial.
More than 250 Roundup cancer cases are consolidated before Judge Smith as part of the California Roundup JCCP. Plaintiffs in the lawsuit allege exposure to Monsanto’s Roundup weed killer caused them to develop non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Monsanto Jury in Historic Revolt Against Judge Attempting to Toss Out Their Unanimous Verdict
In an unprecedented display of commitment to justice, eight of the 12 jurors and two alternates who served on the Johnson v Monsanto trial, 10 total, took a day off work, left their families, and showed up at the San Francisco Court last week to let Judge Bolanos know they want their verdict to stand. The “Trial of The Century” as many are calling it, resulted in a $289.2 million award by the jury from Monsanto to Dwayne “Lee” Johnson, a school pesticide applicator who contracted a terminal case of non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma while using Monsanto’s glyphosate herbicide products Roundup and Ranger Pro.
Upon arrival, “the courtroom was so full,” recounted Robert Howard, juror number four, in an interview with me, “that one of the jurors had to sit in his/her old seat. The Judge definitely noticed our presence.”
He shared how, for a long time, he and his fellow jurors, for whom he has the highest regard, remained silent. He referred to the saying, “Silence cannot be misquoted.” But when he saw the notice that the jury verdict might be overturned, he and several jurors knew it was time to speak up.
